Studio Meala was approached to create an animated music video for ‘The Living Tombstone’s’ single, ‘Sunburn’. The concept of biker action inspired by the likes of ‘Akira’ and sukeban aesthetics, dreamy colour schemes reminiscent of ‘Sailor Moon’ and a romantic twist really interested us, so we had a lot of fun developing, designing, boarding and animating this one.

Synopsis

Our protaganist, Haru, is a head-in-the-clouds student, who becomes enamoured with the mysterious leader of a biker girl gang. In a moment of clarity, she plunges into a new way of life with the mysterious biker, Hina. The video follows Haru’s new delinquent lifestyle, and the pair’s affection for one another.
